On Friday, we cleaned and packed up to head to Sleeping Bear Dunes. MumMum and PopPop did laundry and vacuumed the house while Reid and I packed up and entertained the kids. And then we switched! Reid and I finished the laundry and cleaning/putting the house and shed back in order. MumMum and PopPop put the kids in the bike trailer (with the attached handle they made it into a stroller) and headed into the Village.Graham and PopPop then spent an hour looking at boats down in the harbor. Graham is really into boats right now and had been asking to take a boat ride ever since we arrived. Reid and I got into town in time to get a box of fudge and get on the ferry to Mackinac City. Graham LOVED the boat ride and didn't want to get off the ferry. I had to promise (eh, lie) to get him to calm down so we could get the cars repacked and grab a quick bite in town before heading out. Thankfully, the kids were mostly cooperative and napped on the ride over to Sleeping Bear.
Graham thinks he's skiing here.
We got to Sleeping Bear and unfortunately, hadn't made a dinner reservation (oops!). We did find a pizza place in Glen Arbor where it was only an hour and 15 minutes to get your pizza and salad. Seriously. The kids were running around, throwing rocks and grass and other plant materials into the creek, looking at the fish (the restaurant was right on a creek and kayakers were going by every few minutes) and generally making their Mama even more exhausted because she had to chase after them, so we got dinner to go.
