Playdate at Leslie Science & Nature Center

We had another playdate with Adam and Mia at the Leslie Science & Nature Center. Adam and Mia live in Canton and we met them through my friend Jennifer Sampson (now Acker) from elementary-high school. Adam is a few months younger than Graham and Mia is about 6 months younger than Fletcher. Mia thinks the three boys play with cars, trucks, and trains too much so she usually sticks close to her mom and me.

It was a lovely Sunday afternoon, the LSNC was fairly empty of people (YAY!) and we had a lovely time. We took a long walk on the nature trails and picked up a lot of interesting rocks and sticks on the way. We left them at the center though.

Also at the LSNC are birds of prey! These are birds that have been injured in the wild, rescued and sent to LSNC for healing and rehabilitation. Most of them cannot be returned to the wild due to their injuries and so, they work with handlers and become "Ambassador Birds" to educate the community.

Here is one of the resident bald eagles on his daily flight training with his handler.

Fletcher is watching one of the barn owls here.
