We have been trying for a while now to get MumMum and PopPop to come to Michigan for an extended visit so we could show them around the state. Michigan is beautiful - and they've only seen highways 94 and 23 and the areas around Ann Arbor.
Well, they both retired in January this year and voila! they have time in their schedule to visit for a full week! (Scheduled around their incredibly hectic travel itineraries of course! heehee!) We twisted their arms (only slightly) and they arrived for a 10 day visit on Saturday, June 30th after a short stay in Pittsburgh with Grandma and Grandpa Kane.
For some reason, every single visit they have ever had to Michigan has either set a new record for heat/humidity with accompanying power outages OR there is a major snow event preceded by the supplies of bread, milk and eggs being cleaned our of area grocery stores. Seriously. Well, this visit was no different. We had record setting heat and power outages. Thankfully, our air conditioner was in tip top shape.
Arriving just as the little men were attempting to revive themselves after a nap, we got them settled in the cool basement, packed up a picnic dinner and headed to the pool to cool off.
Look at me!
Is it a kick board or a belly board?
