Busy Day in PA!

We left for Thanksgiving/PopPop's Retirement Party in Pennsylvania Thursday night after Lindsay's class ended. We got to the hotel just past Cleveland around midnight (and unfortunately, both kids woke up and thought it was time for some gymnastics). So, we were up until 3am. BOO!

We got a late start Friday morning and didn't get to the Poconos until 5pm - and had to rush around, unloading the car, getting the boys beds set up and ready to go, the boys and ourselves dressed for the black-tie optional party and back in the car and on our by 5:45pm. Whew! Could not have done it without Justin and Shawna! Thank you so much guys!!!

PopPop's retirement party was a rousing success. I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in years and everyone got to see the kids. They were quite the hit! Despite having been in the car most of the day, not getting a good night's sleep the night before and then being passed around at the party - they were extremely well behaved and didn't start to show their exhaustion until 10pm. At which time, we beat a hasty exit through the kitchen...yes we did.

Saturday, Lindsay and Graham  got back in the car and drove two hours south to Strasburg, PA where we had a playdate with Lindsay's cousin Sarah and her family at the Thomas the Train event. Sarah has 3 kids - 4 year old Mason, 3 year old Gracie and 1 year old Iris. Iris was sick and couldn't make it and Gracie was also sick but was a trooper and toughed it out. Mason and Graham got along like peas and carrots! They share a love of trains.

Sarah and poor little Gracie.

After riding Thomas the Train, we got back in the car and went back to the Poconos for the joint birthday party with Maddy and Fletcher.
