Flowers in our Yard and other Gardening Madness

So we started our garden again!! We (mainly Reid) cleaned out the side garden and planted the following: tomatoes (about 30 plants - YAY fall canning!!), peppers (Bell and Jalapeno), eggplants, squash (yellow and green zucchini, acorn and butternut), cucumbers, pole beans, and rutabegas. Still to be planted this weekend: New Mexican peppers, herbs, peas, lettuces/spinaches/chard, carrots, turnips, and beets....and possibly some other vegetables if we have room in the garden and the time.

Below are some pictures of the lilacs along the driveway and the tulips in the front yard. I snapped the tulip pictures toward the end of their brilliance and before the determined chipmunks finished them off. GRR! I understand now why our neighbors cats keep nightly vigils in our front yard and wish them luck in their endeavors.
